David DeAngelo’s trademark technique is well understood but actually quite hard to get right. A guy is attractive to a girl when he can make her laugh at herself. Guys who are not attractive to a girl (but are considered “friends”) are guys who can only make her laugh at them. This is easier! Cocky is the type of funny which a man should aim for because the sort of humour which attracts a girl is always slightly humiliating her, or cutting her down to size. This is hard, it’s easy to simply insult her or come across as weird.

You know, my baby steps in this pick up stuff were because i started to recieve David de angelo´s newsletters on my e-mail, i started to read em and i was only figuring out how to use c&f and negs, i started with that and worked like a charm! so now i could say im quite good using both of them, but yeah, is kinda hard to define what is c&f, but i think you got a pretty good explanation of it, in this case is harder to apply it in real game than to define it, and even define it is hard LOL.

It is hard, and I think it’s worth saying that if you can’t do it, use something else.
Give cocky-funny a go, and see how it works for you. If it works, fantastic. If it doesn’t, don’t force it. It won’t be congruent with your personality, it’ll look artificial, and it’ll do the opposite of what is intended.
There are plenty of ways to attract someone. Cocky funny is a useful skill, but it’s only one – other things work too. It’s about finding out what works best for you.
