I was wondering the other day about when animals play with each other, why are they happy? Maybe as humans, each is the author of who he/she is, rare consciousness and awareness, each is amazingly complex. But look closer at animals playing, and maybe it is a deeper resonance in yourself that you find.
One day I was watching two puppies chasing each other in the park, and I thought maybe this is nature, maybe this is so beautiful to watch because they’re not getting in their own way. Then as I watched ducks gliding along the water, I noticed a ripple effect and I thought about what I was going to do that day. A woman came and sat next to me, and started reading her book. She asked me if I liked ducks, and I said I did. She asked me what I was reading and I told her it was a medical textbook. She then wanted help with a letter she was writing to a friend who had just found a new boyfriend. I gave her some advice, and she asked me if I believed in love.
I told her I thought most of what happens in our lives is what we have caused to happen. What cause and effect produced the present? It’s infinite, but it’s things that we made happen for the most part… either consciously or unconsciously… so you have to play with the subtleties of real time, like the formlessness of water, like a flowing river. Who and what you are determines what happens to you. The laws of cause and effect is a function of how you think about the life you’re in… so in a way I did believe in it.
You don’t know if it’s right or wrong, it’s just a choice.
There are two worlds, one isn’t necessarily better than the other, they just are. It just is.
Her next words floated through the urban backwaters, as I leant listening to her against the light. “My kids will be free. They will do what they want to do, and they will do what they love. This will make them strong, this will make them free.”

I agree with your thoughts on cause and effect for the most part. Of course, it’s what we do that shapes us, which then affects our future choices. I think, however, that it’s way too complicated to give too much thought to it. If we’re too stuck in thinking about how we got to where we are, then how can we enjoy the moment we’re in? Life is the embodiment of the Chaos Theory, it’s just so unpredictable that all we can do is live it and do our best to enjoy it. So what if my choice to give all my attention to a girl who didn’t want it a few years ago caused me to go into a really black mood for months? At least it pointed me towards the fact that there is some aspect of my life I need to improve :)
But on the girls thoughts on freedom, I completely agree. Of all the things I want in my life, the freedom to do whatever I want is the most important. In fact, the main reason I want to learn to attract women is not just because I want to “get my lay-count up”, but simply that I want to have the freedom to choose who I spend time with, along with the freedom to walk away from people that don’t suit me because I know I can find something better.
Looks like you had a pretty profound experience. She sounds like a pretty free spirit too…
I have no idea how we can define conciousness in real terms, but the world is a deeply amazing spiritual place.
Who you are and what you do defines you right now to other people, but isn’t all that defines you to yourself your own memories and thaughts? All that defines who you are in the future is what you plan to do. I think. I’m not quite sure yet.
I just finished reading the “The End of Faith” by Sam Harris and he has a section in there with loads of mind blowing stuff about what conciousness is, and how we can feel spirituality in our own lives, About the separation of thaught and self, and about how a sense of “I” is created. Heavily Reccomended, its so mind-expanding.

Freedom can mean many different things I like the observations by nature!
Caterpillar to butterfly is in fact one of the oldest kind of poetic ones. This can be used in transformation from AFC to Master PUA.
I was speaking to a freind of mine and she mentioned how her ex-boyfreind was sooo controlling and did not allow her any freedom.
I mentioned the butterfly but not in the context of transformation, in the context that when you hold butterfly;and keep it in your hand you must not squeeze to tight. That is true with relationships. The butterly eventually requires more room … so you can use two hands…. eventually you have to let it free thats how love flourishes …trust and freedom and beauty !!
The above maybe very simplistic however everyone interprets the metaphor differently…. thats the beauty !
I think freedom can be many things…….a famous poet Eric Cantona once said: ‘Like a teardop following the path of least resistance.’
You guys should consider reading the 7 spiritual laws of success by Deepak Chopra- its got so much stuff related to these ideas. Also the Prophet by Kahil Gibran- its just amazing.
Thanks for that tip Ashley- sounds like a similar thing.
Alex, thanks so much for this post dude, it seems like the community often doesn’t lean towards the metaphysical. There must be forces so deeply ingrained in our consciousness that we can’t even see them, even though they’re right in front of us- like the wood you can’t see for the trees. When we meditate or spend time in nature we are giving the mind a chance to be peaceful, so the soul can start speaking, and we can speak back. When we do this our dreams begin to align with the will of the universe, and our lives start to pan out with effortless ease. This is the true nature of being free, in every moment.
I’m quoting Deepak here quite closely but its all stuff I think we all know, it just takes a while, plus a little demonstration, to help us to realise it..
Also, the chaos theory simply says that there is order in chaos, there’s no reason to think that we can’t tap into it. Maths breaks things into pieces, but they don’t need to be- like when you’re vibing with a girl and everything is just right- you don’t need to break it down, you can relax and go with the flow. A bit of both seems to help, and always follow your heart. This is the principal behind Karma.
I think it’s so important to have some personal spiritual time for ourselves each day- not always related to pickup, just time spent in thought and meditation. I don’t really have anything to add to the comments so far but I’m gonna keep my eye on this post cos there’s been some excellent thoughts expressed so far.
so she used the old “ducks” opener on you huh. i wish i could tell you the million and a half times a girls used that one on me(wtf). were there ducks in context she was referring to here or did she also have a moonring on and an airbrushed manatee tshirt on too? (i love a good girl-creep)
for real though, thats cool you teased a spiritual conversation out of a random. it always seams like you can have deeper connections with people you dont know as well because there’s not the facts and figures of your real life in the way of things.
so what did you tell her in response to the freelove rant? did you make sure she knows that that’s prob a great way for her kids to learn that “they love” serving starbucks machiattos and the secret to being strong AND free is to wake up with a couple pills of ex?
i like this little metaphysical journey though and i think you’re right, we are just the consquensences of our decisions, whether concsious or not.
have you guys ever read osho? similar roots to deepak just a little more less fluff and a bit more direct.
interested.
Hey guys,
I enjoyed the story Alex: very enlightening.
However, I’m going to move ever so slightly away from the meaning of the story and comment on the way you described it.
Guys, when you read Alex’s story did you notice the language he used? It was completely imaged based; the story became real — vivid. This is the way you should be talking to a women; when you can talk like this you will find that you become more in tune with a way a woman thinks. Stories about spirituality can also be very effective.
Great post Alex — for more that one reason!
Have fun guys,
JonDoe.
Nice story, is it real? if it is i think she was definately hitting on you… YOU DOG! LOL, in any case, nice, inspiring and yeah, she seem to be a truly free spirit, is hard to find those kind of people, but really refreshing when you do, specially if you consider yourself one of those free souls, like i do, and talking with the truth, i think lots of pua´s are, cause we are nothing but guys that were tired to fall in love one after another time and just end with the heart broken, we decided to take control, the power, of course i don´t generalize, some are naturals, others say they don´t have any feelings for their targets, but i do, and i know a lot of Pua´s that do, i don´t think thats anything wrong with that, you can be an excellent player and still care about your girls, thats to be free, to take the choise that you consider the best for you, i respect guys that are so dominant and say they don´t care about their Hb´s, im dominant in my sets too, but i care about them, i took that choise, so i think is equaly valid, i like this kind of posts, in some way helps our growing as PUA´s and gives us a more vast inner game, at least the way i see it, I think a player should have a good game, yes, but should have above all, an open mind, well, see ya!

JonDoe, great point man, fantastic advice..
“The real voyage of discovery, is not in seeking new lands, but in seeing with new eyes…” ;)
Can’t think of anything better to say to describe the idea of being free and living in the moment :)
bingo with nice graphics.
