The Looming City
I have mentioned in a previous post that women need to feel safe to be at their best. The bitch in them is a survival mechanism and a looming city will switch it on automatically. Combine that with the pedestal of ratio and you’ve got twice the bitch. Looming cities are created by men, not women. A looming city is a masculine creation. Like I’ve said before, as a collective we create our situation with the women. The world is changing. Pickup is a worldwide phenomenon and it will only continue to grow as more and more people realise that it’s what we are here for. The world has been accomodating for business, war and domination and now it’s gonna have to make room for dating and relationships on an epic scale. Kiss goodbye to a lot of the conflict that is going on once this gets fully realised.
I find the definition of a looming city a little hard to swallow. Why are they created by men? Why are they masculine creations? I think this definition may have been true in the past; however, I’m not sure how much it applies today.
I think that in some cases it’s the male ego that makes us think that these places are very masculine. However, the underlying sub-culture in a lot of these places is very feminine. I think that men like to feel in control; we like to place ourselves in the driving seat. When really the world is a fairly level playing field. Yes, we may have some superficial control due to our masculine nature, but I’m not sure I would translate these masculine tendencies onto a place. I think men have their defences, just as much as women, the ego being the central one.
However, I do agree that the pickup community is growing at a heck of a rate. It’s starting to find it’s way into all corners of everyday life. It’s a relationship revolution. However, again it’s easy to think of this revolution as being completely masculine orientated — this is not the case. Women are just as much a part of the seduction community as men. Some women are even starting to study pickup themselves. I personally think that this is great, it makes the world a challenge. It’s important not to get bogged down in stereotypes. The pace of the city is always moving; however, with an open mind it’s always possible to stay one step ahead.
Have fun guys,
JonDoe.
“I find the definition of a looming city a little hard to swallow.”
I find an actual looming city a little hard to breathe in.
“Why are they created by men?”
Men dominate in business. Looming cities are business cities.
“Why are they masculine creations?”
Women have less testosterone. A city created more by women I hope would have a few more trees in it.
“I think this definition may have been true in the past; however, I’m not sure how much it applies today.”
Yes we are changing. Women are changing too. Adapting shall we say. Men are traditionally supposed to protect women. Not start wars and bomb places with women and children. That’s f***** up. Men have been bad to women in the past and many are still being bad now. Women have been bad to men too but what the men have done is much worse.
“I think that in some cases it’s the male ego that makes us think that these places are very masculine.”
No comment. Let’s do a poll lol.
“However, the underlying sub-culture in a lot of these places is very feminine.”
I sort of see your point.
“I think that men like to feel in control; we like to place ourselves in the driving seat. When really the world is a fairly level playing field.”
The world is not a level playing field. Not in terms of men and women and not in terms of anything really. All presidents of the US have been men! level playing field?
“Yes, we may have some superficial control due to our masculine nature, but I’m not sure I would translate these masculine tendencies onto a place.”
I do! I really do. Could talk all day about it.
“I think men have their defences, just as much as women, the ego being the central one.”
Men need to get a clue.
“However, I do agree that the pickup community is growing at a heck of a rate. It’s starting to find it’s way into all corners of everyday life. It’s a relationship revolution.”
This I hope.
“However, again it’s easy to think of this revolution as being completely masculine orientated — this is not the case.”
I don’t think of the revolution as being masculine orientated. I think of business and war as being masculine orientated. I think of dating and relationships as being feminine.
“Women are just as much a part of the seduction community as men. Some women are even starting to study pickup themselves.”
I’ve met women who’ve studied the game and some of them have been very strange. Usually it’s because they see it as a threat. This is because of the nature of its publicity and the angle it’s comming from. Women with more class prefer the term ‘dating and relationships’. A lot of the seduction community are very aggressive and speak in derogatory terminology. If the terminology and publicity was from a different angle we would get a different reaction from the women. Game is what sells to men. Dating and relationships doesn’t translate into $$$ as well if you’re selling to men, even though it’s the same thing.
“I personally think that this is great, it makes the world a challenge.”
The world is not already a challenge? The last time I watched the news it looked pretty challenging to me.
“it’s important not to get bogged down in stereotypes.”
True.
“the pace of the city is always moving; however, with an open mind it’s always possible to stay one step ahead.”
Staying one step ahead is great, in chess it’s actually better to be many steps ahead and the same goes in lots of competitive arenas. Sometimes it gets out of hand though and people get hurt. And that I don’t like.
Thanks for the comments Alistair, you have really helped me gain a more thorough understanding of the concept of the looming city. To keep the conversation flowing a while I will try and respond to some of your comments.
(1). “Men dominate in business. Looming cities are business cities.”
Yes, men are a dominant force in the business world. When we walk down any big city street we see suits all around us. They come out of all the cracks, scurrying around their 9 to 5 lives. However, though they obviously have a presence do they dictate the nature of the city? I’m not so sure. If we look back we find that many cities where built around the poor people who where dominated and repressed — excluding ancient Rome, Egypt and Greece. I do admit that large corporations dominate the city and the business world; however, I’m not sure how much of a reflection that is on the city. I don’t find boats very feminine; however, they have feminine names. I don’t find the city necessarily masculine just because of the testosterone fuelled environment.
(2). “Women have less testosterone. A city created more by women I hope would have a few more trees in it.
It’s interesting that as man I’m not allowed to have trees. I guess I should fill my city with huge phallic sky scrapers instead. ;-).
(3). “Let’s do a poll”.
Lol, that would be a classic way to let our ego’s run wild!
(4). “The world is not a level playing field. Not in terms of men and women and not in terms of anything really. All presidents of the US have been men! level playing field?”
I should have been more clearer on this point. I didn’t mean to pull politics, business or culture into this. Humans will always make stupid decisions: wars will be thought and equality will be challenged. However, we are all born human. Yes we may be born into poverty; however, I would argue that we are all born with the same underlying values that are for the benefit of all society. We distort things; however, nature only stipulated that we are born human. This is my level playing field. How other people constrain on your freedom is not my prerogative and would take much longer to discuss.
(5). “I do! I really do.”
You translate your masculinity onto a whole city. Damn Alistair I’ll be booking a boot camp with you soon! Lol.
(6). “I don’t think of the revolution as being masculine orientated. I think of business and war as being masculine orientated. I think of dating and relationships as being feminine.”
I think you are falling into a stereotype hear. There have been cultures where the women fight the wars and the men sit home and braid each others hair (the hair braiding may be an exaggeration). Just a thought . . .
(7). “The world is not already a challenge? The last time I watched the news it looked pretty challenging to me.”
I mean a challenge in an individual sense. I try not to watch the news, I find it just makes me feel down! Instead I try to conquer my own goals; the world challenged me enough without worrying about everything else that is happening it in.
Don’t get me wrong Alistair: I think your post and responses are great. I’m just trying to get my head around what you say and take something from it! Keep the posts coming man. I don’t mean to come across hyper critical!
Have fun,
JonDoe.
Suits (or anything with a lappell) are descended from suits of armour…
Vandana Shiva, a big mover in the eco-feminism croud, maintains that all heirarchy is a form of patriarchy, and that all domination, including the domination of men over women and humans over nature, is an inherintly masculine ideology.
just throwing that in the mix.
This post is a bit heavy man!
Do we live in a looming city? The world is only as bad as you let it be. You have mentioned a lot about how bad the world is, but theres a lot of good in the world also! People fall in love every day, saying thank you to a bus driver makes him smile, us as PUAs make people smile, theres an enormous amount of charity work in the world, doctors saving lives so people can be with their families, a simple kiss from a loved one can make everything feel great, friends being reunited etc and the list is endless
If your reality is strong enough it doesn’t matter about anything else. So its only a looming city if you let it be! I tend to think the world is awsome
I dont know man, I do get what your saying in a way, but its not a happyy post. Disasters and murders make headline stories, I would rather hear about the simple beautifull things in life. Thats my take on it bro
Cheers, Noel
I agree with Noel- Make your world what you want it to be, don’t let all the bad press make you view the world as pessimists do.
“This post is a bit heavy man!”
I’m sorry man, what was I thinking.
“Do we live in a looming city?”
It’s a concept I made up. I love how it’s come alive lol @ ‘looming city’.
“The world is only as bad as you let it be.”
As an individual you have a responsiblity. As an author on this blog it is my responsibility to raise awareness.
“You have mentioned a lot about how bad the world is, but theres a lot of good in the world also!”
And there needs to be much more of it my friend.
“People fall in love every day,”
I want more people to fall in love.
“saying thank you to a bus driver makes him smile,”
So lets get more people to do this and be like this.
“us as PUAs make people smile, theres an enormous amount of charity work in the world,”
There is an enormous amount, let’s work towards there being a cosmic amount.
“doctors saving lives so people can be with their families,”
Let’s pray that more and more people end up in safer and safer environments, more and more people quit smoking and adopt healthier habbits and need less and less medical treatment.
“a simple kiss from a loved one can make everything feel great,”
Let’s work towards there being more of this in the world.
“friends being reunited etc and the list is endless”
Lets lengthen that already endless list.
“If your reality is strong enough it doesn’t matter about anything else.”
Let’s be strong for the people who can’t be because of circumstance.
“So its only a looming city if you let it be!”
I wish it were that simple. That’s like saying the colour red is only red if you let it be! It’s still red. Yeah Derren Brown can make you colourblind lol but that’s still not addressing the issue.
“I tend to think the world is awsome”
So do I usually and that’s cos I’m in good stead. Try thinking that when you’re at deaths door staring the reaper in the face, suffering agonising pain.
“I dont know man, I do get what your saying in a way, but its not a happyy post.”
I know dude.
“Disasters and murders make headline stories,”
That’s another thing. We need to stop promoting that stuff. There are ‘goodnewspapers’ but hardly anyone buys them. We also need to be aware of whats going on. A balance needs to be struck.
“I would rather hear about the simple beautifull things in life.”
If you’re goooooing to saaaan fraaaancisco… lol
“Thats my take on it bro”
Take 2.
Cheers, Noel
Haha Your good at dissecting Blog posts lol,
“So its only a looming city if you let it be!”
“I wish it were that simple. That’s like saying the colour red is only red if you let it be! It’s still red. Yeah Derren Brown can make you colourblind lol but that’s still not addressing the issue.”
I am just saying that you have a choice in life, to believe the world is good or bad, I believe the world is good. Just because there is evil in the world doesn’t make the world evil.
I tend to think the world is awsome”
“So do I usually and that’s cos I’m in good stead. Try thinking that when you’re at deaths door staring the reaper in the face, suffering agonising pain.”
Obviously this is a place that no one wants to be in, but everything happens for a reason. If I am in agonising pain, that reflects me, not the world. I might be in agonising pain because I saved someones life, making the world good again lol. If I am on deaths door, I have had a good run, made a difference in the world, and am proud of my life, it has to end some time.
All I am trying to say is that Life is good. If you look hard enough you can see good in everything.
Cheers man
Noel
so is this a call to action or just a comment on the state of the world? is that we’re running into or what you’re saying is?
i do like the chunk of prose you through out there on masculine energy that can instill the protective reflex in women. maybe we can move this one into the realm of how we can react to that.
i think it might not be a doomsdayish future that instills that reaction but is a rather the timeless call of women for masculine protection. the little girl in them all that just needs a dad to keep the eye out.
Like you say, the bitch shield is clearly a necessary survival mechanism in a city like this. But since they’re not really bitches there is always a way round this shield. Here’s a routine that never fails when delivered correct.
PUA Can I ask you a quick question
HB No
PUA Sorry, I just thought you looked open minded and friendly, but obviously I was wrong.
HB Yeah (looks away)
PUA Apoligies for wasting your time, its just I’ve not got much confidence and don’t have the courage to get out
all that much.
This will melt the toughest of shields, assuming she is normal and healthy.
That´s true, you can also flip the bitch field, when you change their frame, for example, i was in a club and got this;
Poker: Hey, you seem interesting… so…
HB; I don´t wanna flirt today…
Poker: Me neither, i just thought i knew you, i thought i made you an interview in a radio show, im a radio host.
HB: Oh really? in which station?…
Poker: Sorry, im not in the mood for flirting… and you are not that girl, she was a model…
HB: Im a model
Poker: Yeah right… of what? socks?
HB: you are bad…
Poker: You have no idea
I took it from there and transition, was a good set after all, but yeah, as you see is the point you are making here, she was puting the bitch shield to feel secure, when she saw that i wasn´t that interested in her she put that shield off and opened a little bit more.
