How've you been?", you might be looking at him thinking "...do I know you?", but you will likely go along with it anyway (at least for a while), to find out who this person is. I've actually opened this way and got great results, because by the time the girl realises she doesn't actually know you, she's invested in the conversation to the point where severing rapport would be socially unintelligent.
